I Need a Name!

I like these beads with swirls of a ruddy red running through them, but I'm at a loss for a name to move them into my Etsy shop.

Please help me out and leave a comment with your suggestion. I'll draw a random # on October 31st to select the winner.

Did I mention I'll send the winner a dozen beads free, including some of my latest egg beads? :)

Please leave only one comment with your name (anonymous comments won't be counted) and bead name suggestion.

Kelly,How about Lacy Bordello I don't know where that came from but it was what I thought when I first saw them. Very pretty beads.

"Sangria Swirl", or "Iced Sunset"

a flame runs through it?

prettylittleshop said...

hmm.... i think "Rooibos Tea". gorgeous beads :)

Oooh, 'Sweet Tea', 'Just Add Rum', 'Autumn Swirl'... your friends are crafty Kel. As always, you have outdone yourself. Gorgeous glass ma'dear. These Brown Beauties make me think of that giddy feeling you get when the first day of Autumn hits you. The goosebumps that slide your arm from a drier crisper air, the first yellow leaf, the first smell of cider, the first warm sweater...

My suggestion is two fold: 'Autumnal Equinox' or just simply 'Fall'.

The first thing that comes to mind is Iodine LOL

"Saturn's Envy" There speaks my inner science geek. But the look like the swirly, gaseous clouds around Saturn. But I must say, I sort of love Alison's name "a Flame Runs Through It." Cool. Love BluePomGirl (@Twitter)

I'm going to go for "Amber Twist". I can't wait to see what you choose from all of these great options!

Russet Ribbons? More creative than "pretty beads" (which is the first thought that popped into my mind...)...

I must be hungry...
The first thing that came to mind is my very favorite holiday recipe (that I will totally have to dig out the recipe for!)
Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake

Or how about
Paprika on my Paprikash
(obscure When Harry Met Sally movie reference)
Enjoy the day!

Amber smoke. Amber swirl...the color is like smoke spiraling up from an extinguished candle...
Good luck making a selection!

Gorgeous beads and the name I would give them is "Caribbean Sunsets". I hope to win!

The deep amber/red looks like Brandy to me, so I suggest... "Brandy Swirl"

Good luck picking a name!!

Iced Lava or Volcanic Swirl (can you tell what they made me think of?)

I knew a girl in high school who's name was Amber Lane. I loved that name and for some reason that just jumped into my thoughts. The beads are lovely.

How about "poppy swirl?"

Luthvian said...

the red colouring reminds me of the colour of saffron, so perhaps... Saffron Spice? or Cinnamon Swirl (I think I've been spending too much time with my head in the spice cupboard).

gorgeous beads :) I hope you find the perfect name.

Coming from the West Indies its gotta be 'Rum & Ice'.

The first thing that came to mind was a drip of blood dispersing in water - exactly the same colour and pattern. They are very delicate and beautiful though. But the only words that keep popping up in my mind are things like "sanguine" "bloodline" or "vampire candy"... I'd better not tell that to a psychologist *giggles madly* ;)

Swirled Honey is my pick.

I suggest Cognac on Ice.

These beads are sooo pretty! They remind me of marbles my Grandma had with her Chinese Checkers set when I was a kid....

My name for them.....sanguine (as in sanguinous, related to blood)

"Redrum"! Complete with scratchy imaginary-friend voice and optional finger movement. They're lovely beads, Kelley!

Mellisa - Chinook Jewelry said...

Wow, I'm pretty late to the party with my suggestion and dang it, cinnamon swirl is taken! I like how they have such a pretty dispersing swirl rather than distinct color so I'm going to say cinnamon mist or autumn mist. :)

Hmmmmm.... Flashfire...like lovely, dancing flames under a layer of clear cool ice. Very pretty, love them.

That's funny...I thought up "Cinnamon Spice" before looking at any of the comments, and cinnamon was suggested at least 3 times! I thought of "Pumpkin Spice" first, but then decided the color looked more like cinnamon. I guess fall is in the air, and I always have food on the brain, lol. Thanks for the giveaway!!

I am loving your music! How about "Mercy" a fitting name for those great beads that seem to cast a spell!

Alice said...

My first thought was Flamenco as they remind me of a dancer in a sassy swirl. The second name came to mind is Ambrosia. There are lots of great suggestions and I don't know how you would choose.

These are gorgeous beads and I'd love to win some from you!!!!

I think I'm going to say Rusted Waves.
It just reminds me of the fact that the waves are stuck, and red, like a rusted over machine. And, of course, waves as in the kind you surf on.
I love the design!

Again you have created incredible beads!! Perhaps a name like Suspended Magic. You truly do instill magic into each of your beads! :)

The first thing I thought of when I saw them was Koi fish swimming in a pond. So, my suggestion is 'Koi'. :) They're beautiful beads. ^^

Pearl and Pebble said...

Oh these are such a pretty color-like a fine cognac, and the soft swirls remind me of the "dance" steam does coming off a hot cup of something...so my suggestion is "Hennessy's Waltz". This is so fun!!:)

Sangrita. See this link if you haven't spent time in Mexico drinking "la bandera:"

Lois Moon said...

Ok, this link has the pic that will show you why I thought of sangrita.

Add a shot of lime juice with the tequila and sangrita and you have a red, white, and green line of drinks - the MX flag.
