Something to Ponder

Beads Going in the Shop Tomorrow

here are close ups of all the beads going into my shop tomorrow, starting at 1pm-ish Eastern time.  pay no mind to lack of capitalization, punctuation or poor grammar throughout this post.  all my effort went into making beads and corralling my children.  there is little energy left for following writing rules.

two sets of etched raku on black

merlot swirls

age of aquarius speckles on clear

merlot focal.  my new favorite

hidden depth swirls

storms of jupiter focal.  another new favorite

merlot speckles on clear

turtle prints focal, on ivory and encased

can you see me now?

sandstorm swirls

turtle tracks

ivory spacers.  I always love the crackling that happens with ivory in the flame and felt I needed to make a set of spacers.  because it has been years.

inverness spiral focal

awhile ago, I asked for suggestions on what to make the next time I sat down at the torch.  Erin asked for a combo of purple and gunmetal.  I tried dipping my clear rod in purple frit and swirling outwards, so the base beads were a deep, transparent purple.  then I dotted the gunmetal glass around the belts of the purple beads.  I was not expecting this cool reaction when I amped up the fuel to reduce the gunmetal dots.  instead of the gunmetal turning into a matte metallic, the purple glass turned a metallic gold and the dots became even blacker.  a most unexpected reaction, but I think they turned out pretty cool.  the purple can still be seen (more easily when the sun is shining through them, but I only had clouds for this little photo shoot).

azure reflections focal

sandstone rounds.  I love how different shades come out of one rod of glass.

raku in clear hollow

YUMMY! I actually gasped at the sight of those first beads, the raku. OMG! You are so amazing Kelley! And I do think that swirly Jupiter bead and the turtle ones are fab too. Kudos on trying new things! Purple and black are a great combo.
I was just fondling, er, admiring my new glass head pins from you and imagining all sorts of options. May have to have more though...
Stop enticing me, you temptress!

Enjoy the day ;-)

OOPS think I got the wrong name, it was "hidden depths" I was referring to, not that storms of jupiter isn't fantastic!!!

Thank you all for coming to my blog, stalking my shop, making numerous purchases and supporting my addiction with glass. I wish I knew you all in real life and couldn't ask for a better group of people to share my life and love of glass with than you all!

I Just HAD to Share This!
