Safe travels my babies!

These are headed up to NY now. I had fun making this special order for Lorelei and can't wait to see what she does with them. Now I want to make more in other colors!

These beads are on their way up to the Tundra as a surprise for one lucky person.
And these earrings are on their way to a neighborhood about a mile from my Dad to a classmate I just reconnected with on facebook recently. Not without a little stomach churning in the process. I was notified of the sale Saturday night, which was a wonderful surprise to see who bought them. I first met her in 4th grade and her Mom was one of my 5th grade teachers. We were in chorus together for a few years before she went to a new high school that opened our 10th grade year. I love that facebook helps reconnect friends after so many years have passed!
But here is the stomach churning part. When I went to package up the earrings so they would be ready to mail out on Monday, I found they were missing. MISSING! Oh, my stomach dropped. Where the heck did these earrings go??? I really have no idea. I tore my office and studio apart. Yes, down to the desktop with all paperwork filed and they weren't even hiding under all the papers.
A good two hours of cleaning, filing and searching, but to no avail. I no longer have the original frit (the smashed up glass that makes the speckles) and haven't found a replacement for that cool batch I bought at the bead shows in Tucson two years ago. I did have some larger and lighter-colored green frit that I used to make the replacement earrings and she liked those. Sigh. I really hope she loves them in person.
I have had a couple of beads disappear on me (read as snatched up by the sticky fingers of a seven or five year old), but never any jewelry. I always have my jewelry stowed away safely and still feel awful. Ok, enough sniveling and banging my head.
I have more pics to edit and then post later this week to show you more of the beads I made this past weekend. It felt sooooo good to be back on the torch again after almost a month off it. I can't wait to get back on one of these nights to make more beads! I also figured out an easier way to re-size my pics so I don't have to go into PhotoShop on every picture to re-size the image before posting in Etsy. So that was an exciting new thing for me, since I tend to drag my heels on getting stuff listed because it just takes soooo loooooong.

Gorgeous work as usual! I panic a little that I won't be able to find an item someone has bought too. I just need a better system of storing things! Congrats on the sales!
i am in love with those red beads!
and you'll need to share your resizing secret ;)
Gorgeous beads Kelley! We are all so glad you are feeling better:) Love the red beads - they remind me of juicy pomegranate seeds! Fabulous color!!!!
Love the reds. Very silky looking. I especially like the surprise beads. Very earthy and lovely. Things go missing on me more than I'd like to admit. But is just awfully frutrating isn't it!
That panic over lost items already sold was THE worst! Tis making me watch my kids that much closer when they venture into my office, although they are more bead snatchers than jewelry snatchers.
Thinking from all of your responses, I need to be making more of these reds :)
Lovely beads...doesn't your heart just drop when you can't find something...I've done the same idea but so far I've managed to find what I've been looking for...so far!!! :0)
Cheers
