I realized recently that some of my etched beads were not faring so well in my little trunk of holding all the beads listed on Etsy. Normally this trunk is stationary in my studio, but it went on our summer trip up to Minnesota and got jostled around more than normal. As a result, I have taken all of my etched beads out of my shop for inspection and restoration.
This isn't the best pic, but it's all I got with my iPhone a few weeks ago when my old camera was loaned out before the new one arrived.

I bought these two sets of drawers when they were hot in the school supplies aisles. They work well for separating my beads into various sections so I know exactly where to look, instead of digging through the whole trunk and wondering if I will ever find a set. It is easy to look through these drawers to be reminded of what is inside and assures me they are no longer scared of the dark.

They are no longer sitting on top of each other and fighting for space. My beads are happy because they can breathe.

All the worry stone beads are hanging out together and behaving like the best of friends. I haven't heard any fighting coming from those big guys at all.

I use the same kind of drawers for my etsy shop. I found a suggestion to section off the different drawers with recycled food boxes, such as cut down cereal and pasta boxes. I found it really works great! My donuts, pendants, and cabs are all in the same drawer but separate so that when something sells I can find it so easily. Doesn't a little organization ease the mind?
The suggestion probably came from team EcoEtsy.
I have those exact same plastic cabinets! I keep my finished pieces in there. I still keep my beads in small storage tubs though and spend half my day looking for stuff. Which tub...They're labeled and categorized but that doesn't seem to keep me from hiding stuff from myself.
I am a sucker for anything organizational. Not that you could tell by my desk that I love organization. Sightings of the actual desktop are rare.
But I'm excited to have something new and better to house my beads. I didn't like digging through the trunk and having my heart rate shoot up momentarily because I couldn't find the set that just sold.
Isn't it nice to be oranized? I'm drooling over the beads in those photos!
oops...I meant organized :)
Much better Kelley - good move!
I need to do something like that. Right now my Etsy stuff is in a built-in cabinet (knob missing because I thought it would make a nice stamp....) If I do not put things away my son's little black cat sits on the beads like they are eggs and she a hen. She likes them best when still warm from the kiln! Pam
This is good. I'm having a little organisational crisis right now and think I'll look into this.
